The big screen X-movies of X-MEN: X-GENERATION and X-CODEX are heading to Australia.
The first film, directed by Bryan Singer, will open on December 14 and will be released theatrically on December 20, 2018.
It will be followed by the second X-Movies on February 8, 2019, and the third on March 12, 2020.
After the third film, it will be the same time in 2020 for the next film, which is still under production.
Aussie moviegoers have been clamouring for more X-covies in recent years and XM has been one of the most popular films on offer in the States.
X-MEN and XCODex are both being made in Australia and have a worldwide gross of $1.2 billion.
However, this is not the first time X-books have landed in Australia.
In the 1980s, the series X-BOOKED was released in the states and grossed $946 million.
Australian producers are hoping that the X-series will be an easy sell for audiences in Australia who were looking for more of a family-friendly story.
Australia’s movie industry has a history of releasing films in the U.S. in the same format as the X series.
When X-MAN: MAN FROM UNKNOWN ETERNAL WAS released in 2007, it grossed just $922 million.
In 2015, Deadpool was released on home video in Australia for the first movie in the franchise.
Its $4.8 million Australian opening gross was also a big reason why the movie won Best Picture at the Academy Awards.
But this year, it is not a big hit with audiences.
Deadpool has been a big success with American audiences and has grossed nearly $1 billion in the country.
If the X franchise is successful in Australia, the next X-book may be a good addition to the mix.
In an interview with Entertainment Weekly last year, Singer said he had an idea of what he wanted the next installment to be.
“I think the next one will be called X-FORCE and will hopefully be about the Avengers as opposed to the X,” he said.
Singer said that the next Marvel movie would be more family friendly than previous films in X-FILES, such as X-POSITION and X2.
Marvel also has the Xtreme Spider-Man film on its slate, which also stars Josh Brolin. ABC/AAP
