A home- and home game between the Rams and Raiders could help the Rams win the AFC West, according to a report from The Associated Press.
The Rams will play the Raiders at the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum in Inglewood, California, on Sept. 29, 2019.
“They’re a really good team,” Rams coach Jeff Fisher said in September.
“We’re going to have to win that game.”
The Rams have lost their last three games to the Raiders and will be without starting quarterback Jared Goff, who will miss the season after undergoing shoulder surgery last year.
Rams receiver Tavon Austin and running back DeAndre Washington, both of whom are expected to miss at least the next two seasons, have emerged as top options to start opposite Goff.
Injuries have hampered Goff, however, who is expected to be a key part of the offense for the Rams in 2019.
If Goff misses the season, the Rams would need to find a new backup to lead the offense and play well enough to win.
“It’s going to be important to get a win, and that’s going in the top five,” Fisher said.
“Hopefully that’s the case.”
