Posted May 02, 2019 06:48:53Westgate Entertainment is closing the doors on its popular Westgate Westgate Hotel and Casino in May, and will close its casino on May 13.
Westgate, based in California, announced the closures on Twitter.
The company said it is shutting down Westgate Casino in the heart of the Westgate area, located at 855 Westgate Blvd., and will “closing down Westgates Westgate Resort and Westgate World Casino at a later date.”
Westgate said it would keep Westgate Village as a theme park and theme resort.
The resort, which had been open for more than a decade, is located in the west end of Westgate, just across the border from San Diego.
The Westgate resort is located on the edge of the western edge of Westgate, which is a busy area with more hotels and resorts than anywhere else in the world.
The new closure follows the company’s decision to close two other resorts in July, including the Westgating Resort in Santa Monica and the Westinghouse Westgate Resorts in Anaheim, Calif.
Westgate’s other resorts are in California and Washington.
The closure comes as Westgate has been struggling to stay afloat, with earnings declining nearly 50 percent year-over-year in the first six months.
Westgators revenue, which includes hotels, restaurants, resorts and gaming, has fallen by about 70 percent over the last three years.
